Mather Golf Course is a public 18-hole championship golf course located at 4103 Eagles Nest Road, Mather, CA 95655. Originally designed by Jack Fleming in 1959 and built by the U.S. Air Force for exclusive military use, the course opened to the public in May 1994 after Sacramento County purchased it during the nationwide base closure process. The facility is situated on the historic former Mather Air Force Base and has become one of the first twenty-five courses in California to be fully designated as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
