Course Layout & Notable Holes
The Fleming 9 is uniquely routed inside the TPC Harding Park 18-hole championship course, like “a cinnamon roll” pattern. Despite its shorter length, it presents significant challenges with narrow fairways lined by cypress trees, strategic bunkering, and greens matching the championship course quality.
Hardest Holes
Hole 7 (Par-4, 425 yards): The #1 handicap hole – one of the longest and most challenging par 4s on any executive course. “One of the par 4s is a monster”.
Hole 1 (Par-4, 405 yards): Opens the round with a demanding 400+ yard par 4. Sets a challenging tone immediately.
Hole 5 (Par-3, 235 yards): The #3 handicap – an extremely long par 3 requiring driver for most golfers. “The longest is a 235-yard driver for most of us”.
Hole 6 (Par-3, 200 yards) and Hole 3 (Par-3, 195 yards): Long par 3s requiring accurate mid-iron to hybrid shots.
Greens: Similar to the championship course – fast with significant contour and undulation. “Short game is a lot more challenging on these like hills… a lot more contour on the greens”.
Easier Holes
Hole 2 (Par-3, 140 yards) and Hole 4 (Par-3, 140 yards): The two shortest holes – manageable short iron shots. “The two shortest par 3s are ‘only’ 140 yards”.
Hole 8 (Par-4, 260 yards): A fun, shorter par 4 that’s drivable for longer hitters. The #17 handicap hole.
Hole 9 (Par-3, 165 yards): Medium-length finishing hole.
