Your First Visit (Step-by-Step)
Parking
Step 1) Arrival: Enter the main gate at 599 Skyline Blvd. Follow the signs for the Bag Drop Area.
Step 2) Bag Drop: Pull up to the Bag Drop first. Outside Services staff will greet you; tell them your host member’s name or your tee time. They will take your clubs and place them either at the driving range or on a cart.
Step 3) Member/Guest Lots: Continue past the bag drop to the designated parking areas.
Public/Tournament Parking: Note that for large events, you may be directed to off-site lots (like SF State Lot 20) with a shuttle service.
Step 4) Strict Attire Rule: You must be in proper Golf Attire before even stepping out of your car into the parking lot. Jeans, denim, cargo shorts, and yoga pants are strictly prohibited in the Lakeside parking lots.
Buy Balls
Step 1) Guest Check-in: Go to the Lakeside Clubhouse Front Desk to receive a Guest Card if you are unaccompanied.
Step 2) The Golf Shop: Proceed to the Golf Shop to pay for range access.
Step 3) Payment: The club accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments (Apple Pay); it is not cash-only.
Pricing: As a guest, you may be eligible for member pricing for shop items.
Step 4) Accessing Balls: Once paid, you will likely receive a token or code for the ball dispenser located at the practice facility.
How You Get Balls
staff
Find a Mat / Bay / Grass Spot
Step 1) Identify the Range Area: The practice facility is separate from the main clubhouse. If your clubs were taken at the Bag Drop, they will already be waiting for you there.
Step 2) Choosing a Spot:
Bays are typically marked by ropes or designated mats.
Step 3) Etiquette: Do not “reserve” a bay by leaving your bag and walking away to get balls; get your balls first, then find an open station.
Step 4) Orientation: Stay within your designated station. If it is a grass range, hit in straight lines to preserve the turf rather than scattered patterns.
Step 5) Where to Stand:
Always stand behind the person currently swinging.
Step 6) Be mindful of your shadow—ensure it does not fall across another golfer’s line of sight or ball during their swing.
Step 7) Keep your gear (bags, extra clubs) a few feet behind the hitting line to avoid cluttering the walkway
