Presidio Golf Course Driving Range is a large outdoor grass driving range at Presidio Golf Course, located conveniently right next to the 1st tee in a scenic forest setting within the Presidio National Park. The range offers 36, 70, or 100 ball buckets and also features a 6-hole practice putting green and chipping green. It is open Wed-Mon from dawn to dusk with a late Tuesday opening for maintenance.

Premier San Francisco driving range within historic Presidio (est. 1895), featuring large natural grass range, 6-hole practice putting green, and chipping area. Card/key ball dispenser system. 

While the Presidio Golf & Concordia Club is a private membership “club house” the members use the public 18 hole Presidio Golf Course and the Presidio Golf Course Driving Range.

Your First Visit (Step-by-Step)

Parking lot at 300 Finley Rd. $2.50/hr or $12.50/day weekdays; $3/hr or $15/day weekends. Alternative: West Pacific Ave lot at $2/hr or $10/day. 1) Park in Presidio lot. 2) Walk to Golf Shop. 3) Purchase balls from dispenser machine near range (or buy range card at Golf Shop). 4) Select: 36 balls $9, 70 balls $13, 100 balls $16. 5) Take bucket to open spot on range tee line.
Step 1) Enter Craftsman-style clubhouse and visit pro shop. Step 2) Purchase range card or add money to existing card at counter. Step 3) Exit clubhouse and walk to driving range area. Step 4) Insert card into ball dispenser machine to receive bucket of balls. Step 5) Practice at large driving range. Step 6) Also available: 6-hole practice putting green and chipping green. NOTE: Range temporarily closed Nov 2025 for drainage improvements. OR Purchase range balls from the ball dispenser machine near the driving range. Options: 36 balls ($9), 70 balls ($13), or 100 balls ($16). Range cards ($115 for $150 value, $250 for $375 value) can be purchased at the Golf Shop.

From the Golf Shop/clubhouse, walk toward the 1st tee – the driving range is located right next to it (described as ‘in a hole’ or below grade). Find any open spot on the grass tee line. Set up and hit toward the target area. Parking lot -> Walk to Golf Shop/clubhouse (1-2 min) -> Purchase balls at dispenser near range -> Walk to driving range next to 1st tee (1-2 min) -> Find open spot on grass tee line. Putting/chipping greens between clubhouse and range.
